    In a big way these for-profits only ran because they could continually increase enrollment, basically a huge Ponzi scheme.

      The just-beginning cadre of failing for-profit universities is an indicator that enrollment numbers and t/f costs are dropping.

        By 'costs' I mean the cost that potential students are willing to put up with.

        For a while, the drop will be absorbed by for-profit unis going bankrupt, as they took in the least willing and least profitable students.

          But eventually it will hit traditional universities, who will have to start liquidating endowment investments if they want to stay afloat.

            One of the things they will liquidate will be real estate, that will cause the RE market to drop, then... ? Nothing good.
