    davisshaver I don't think the Thunderdome model was a bad idea, though I do think there were mistakes in its design that could have been avoided, but that's easy to say in hindsight. I think the core issue is that the current economic culture will always turn news conglomeration predatory

      davisshaver I think that the inherent problems of media conglomeration is only magnified when it attempts to exert central control over a network of local news orgs, it creates unneeded management layers and is unable to make the very different low level decisions needed by different markets

        davisshaver That is the primary way Iook at these operations and make the call if they're worth my vocal support or not. It's why I stayed far away from Patch back when it was the coolest kid.
