If you started with jQuery and went to vanilla JS, or went from Python to C++, you've evolved your work by removing abstraction in order to learn and do something interesting that the abstraction wasn't good at, so don't look down on users who want to do the same.Permalink On twitter.com

So yeah, I like blobs and atomic content as much as the next guy but it isn't always the best solution and sure as hell isn't the best solution for inputting text on to the web. The best solution is the one that matches users' needs in context. The better solution gives options.Permalink On twitter.com

Sometimes that may not be DOM based, but don't crap on a user just because a DOM is what they need for their situation. And maybe don't everyone "evolve" away from that at once. There's a need for both types of tools.Permalink On twitter.com
