      noahchestnut cantlin blaine pilhofer I agree with that, but also I think that cantlin has a particularly media-literate approach. I don't think most people consume undifferentiated news. They consume news through brands they feel aligned with. Local is one way to align them.

They are clearly operating on the assumption that readers align to specific brands via shared values
