      1. I mean the CA stuff is outrageous but also the reality is that they used the same exact type of data every internet company collects on you for the exact same intent and just played it to the hilt.

      The terms of service that CA allegedly broke on Facebook aren't there to protect users. They're there to protect Facebook's monopoly. Facebook isn't upset on your behalf. It's upset someone took its own data and did the thing Facebook tries to do but (allegedly) better.

    CA is just the logical endpoint of the current structure of the internet economy. All companies will eventually do this. It's not some crazy one off. That's why the solution has to be regulation. The law is broken here.
