robleathern dansinker isaach nytimes Buuuuut they mostly are. The problem is handling verification vendors. Google has provided sandboxing through Safeframe for years. Invoking sandboxing without them is simple too. The problem is both direct and programmatic ads can't run viewability and verification in sandbox.

robleathern dansinker isaach nytimes While I would love to eliminate those things and push a standard metric through Safeframe or on our own, advertisers don't trust the results (or at least their agencies tell them not to) and either push back or a drop in RPM results for programmatic.

robleathern dansinker isaach nytimes At Salon we struggled w/ implementing Safeframes because we saw quality go up, hijacks go down, and speed go up, but every single exchange pushed back. They're right about this: it's a simple cause. So why isn't the billion dollar ad tech Lumascape that's responsible fixing it?
