noahchestnut shansquared There is a genuinely terrifying conversation to have about how fall of net neutrality will mean pipes control our capacity to distribute ads and how easy it would be to use that to frame anti net neutrality as pro consumer while further removing value for pubs from ad ecosystem

noahchestnut shansquared Like imagine getting an email as a consumer saying: 'we noticed all your data is being eaten up by network requests to doubleclick.com. We're going to slow them down unless you pay extra. Then they email the publisher: pay us if you want your ads to load.

noahchestnut shansquared I'm honestly a little afraid to even talk about where this could go because someone evil might get ideas... :/

noahchestnut shansquared But yeah, someone at Google is losing sleep over the idea that the pipes own ad tech companies and if net neutrality dies the pipes can destroy Google's ad tech distribution.
