                      It's easy to forget this, but self-hosting video content for small media or individuals is very much an unsolved problem.

                    Hosting video is worthless to YouTube unless they can run ads on it. It costs them infrastructure & earns nothing. Of course this occurs.

            This marks something real interesting. For YouTube to make this move, monetization of video must be moving away from preroll in a big way.
