Just discovered a really cool Twitter hack. Top story on Trending Topics is a unique short link. If you search for it, one tweet shows up
-
I wonder what makes that tweet's link the top-of-page trending link? Is that the moment the algo decided it 'went viral'?
-
So weird. Hiroshima is a 200k+ Twitter trend, but the link at the top of the page is from this tweet: macht0412/736213764207312896
-
This random guy with 105 followers probably doesn't even realize his link has likely been clicked on by thousands of people.

I am continuing to be fascinated by the tweets who's links top Trending pages even when the tweets don't. Delo_Taylor/736331371937988608

You can't retweet the link at the top of a Trending page, so no one sees it to muck with unless you copy and paste it out of the page.
