        1. It's sort of interesting to think of 'Continuum' and 'Person of Interest' as shows on opposite ends of the same spectrum.

Both shows are explicitly about surveillance, the state, and how we react to terror (or use it) as a society.

One end: Person of Interest challenges gov't responsibility over surveillance & asks us what limits we're willing to go to for escape terror

Continuum asks what level we're willing to be agents of surveillance for the state, & how much terror we'll accept by sympathetic causes.

Person of Interest asks - should we challenge systems that make us safe if they challenge our morality?
      1. …in reply to @Chronotope
Continuum asks - How far are we willing to go to defend our own moral code and how can we defend when we go far, perhaps too far?

Perhaps most interesting part of both shows: they have antagonistic organizations that champion sympathetic causes through terrible means.

Both Vigilance and Liber8 are fictional organizations with essentially sympathetic causes and terrible means for their ends.

I find it fascinating that either show goes on TV while something like 24 exists.

The other interesting piece is both center the debate around questions of if technology is positive. Both plots are only possible w/tech.

Both ask if this technology is inevitable, if surveillance is inevitable, & if people can possibly be responsible for using it appropriately
