        eaton In retrospect I agree, but in the context of the times those books and his major econ columns were published, even being contemptuous towards the banking sector was a radical act. Especially for those of us who were watchers of the economy who saw almost no one else laying blame.

      eaton I mean, Timothy Geithner, whose most notable accomplishment was failing to see, react, or intervene in the crisis in any way while in a position of power intended to do all of that, was promoted to Secretary of the Treasury ffs. We were badly lacking in public contempt.

    eaton The Big Short would not come until later & would not be popular until much later. I was writing an econ column for UPI at the time and I can tell you it was incredibly frustrating to read major and minor media mostly reporting that this was all just unfortunate impersonal forces
