This is pretty unfortunate. theverge.com/2022/11/1/23434502/twitter-blue-ad-free-articles-discontinued-feature
-
Hard to see what could provide more value to Twitter users than being able to read the articles they encounter in an ad free mode. Seems like a dumb thing to kill and really the only mature feature in the Twitter Blue portfolio.
-
Whelp... uhhh.... guess I'm killing my Twitter Blue subscription then. Nothing else in there really worth paying for.
-
The Undo Tweet thing never really worked and the main thing I need to do with Edit Tweets is to edit Tweets that are in a thread and that never worked either and I don't need a Top Articles tab, I kept forgetting it existed so... bye Twitter Blue.
-
A bundled paywall bypass seems like a cool idea but who knows if/when it'll happen. +the economics of it seem *very* iffy. If it happens maybe I'll come back but why turn this off if you don't have to? Who is going to stick around on Twitter Blue while they figure out what it is?
-
There are a lot of reasons that bundling paywall passes hasn't worked up until now and I really don't foresee the current version of Twitter being the one to figure that out. They'd have to prove competence for me to stick around on the hope of that.
-
Until then... whotf wants to *pay* to be Twitter's beta tester, especially now?
