    whet IMO I think their big mistake was making it a native format. People argue, mute and block Tweets and the end result is that Twitter is a platform where people way more aggressively negatively interact with ads than pretty much anywhere else.

      whet Reddit's native ad program was uniquely successful because Reddit did a really good job communicating its case to its users about why they needed ads and why users should tolerate them and also because Reddit's userbase mostly really likes Reddit as a company.

        whet Twitter does not have a *fanbase* like that whose goodwill it can use to create an understanding around ads.
