  1. Why is Twitter promoting a trending tile of a real sketchy website with no followers? If its a paid placement, it should be marked as such, if it isn't... why promote a reworded article that was posted to MSN?

I mean this is *clearly* a barely reworded rip off of an article posted to MSN posted by a no-credibility site with no followers who is appears to be some sort of click farm. Twitter promoted article on the left, MSN article on the right.

I was presented with a card in the What's happening area, which linked me to a thread by the sketchy company, converted into the Event format, whose account is following no one and has a little over 4,000 followers. twitter.com/i/events/1582802978125201408

The MSN source that originally wrote the story at msn.com/en-in/money/topstories/lack-of-exercise-can-cost-global-governments-dollar27bn-a-year-by-2030-who-warns/ar-AA138QwX isn't well known to me, but WION has a Wikipedia page and is apparently a 15 year old company in India. Br**zyscroll doesn't even have a Crunchbase page.

This is irresponsible on Twitter's part, either an unmarked ad placement or editorial didn't bother to look at the account or click through to the extremely sketchy looking site filled with bad ads and bad tracking tech that could expose users to who knows what security issues.

Besides mis-training users to trust sites that are not trustworthy, it also exposes anyone who clicks through to a whole host of JS that could be doing who knows what and promotes what is just barely escaping plagiarism with some creative rewording.

At least one other article appears to just be this company, which claims to be "one of the fastest-growing news/content companies in the US" is just ripping off content published on WION. Like WION, it's claimed owner appears to also be India-based.
