donohoe Yeah I don't mention it because the cost is already sunk in. 1. You can't run a free service if you're not gobbling up user data for use elsewhere. 2. And the limiting of features in this case is a feature, not a bug, of working inside a more regulation-bound regime.

donohoe I think anyone who is using GA because it is free is either EEA-based and going to switch to a lower-feature lower-risk competitor and deal with the $5-25/m. And outside of the EEA they're likely beneath regulators notice. It's folks paying for GA that have to be most concerned.
