It's true that it wasn't 'the pandemic' that set kids back though. It was our half hearted embrace of isolation measures, our inability to properly fund & support schools & teachers to do new methods of teaching, & our continuing refusal to properly protect teachers from COVID...Permalink On twitter.com

Only an economist would look at the potential toll of thousands of dead children, measure it against a bunch of arbitrary numbers, & declare it would be better if the children had been killed. Ignoring how arbitrary it is to maintain learning goal posts despite thousands of deaths across the nation, the largest problem in resolving these educational problems is hiring teachers.
