swodinsky Considering the end of 3p cookies on most browsers their tech is unlikely to work consistently since, as far as I can tell, it relies on cross domain cookies and increasingly unreliable fingerprinting. I think what's more likely is all traffic from CA is going to be age gated.

swodinsky I would bet ageid, like most ad tech, barely works, & mostly doesn't work at all, but provides legal protections to business users w/a layer of plausible deniability. Since no one checks, audits, or verifies they keep making money, & everyone is incentivized to not call em on it.

swodinsky I'm sure that won't stop a lot of sites from bringing them on. When has a product being obviously non functional stopped anyone in ad tech before?

swodinsky Judging from their privacy policy it would be pretty easy to build a much better product that is more functional from a technical perspective, likely more private too... but it would be more expensive to handle things properly. So no one will.
