Frustrating to see G/O release autoplay video on all mobile article pages, where the video is unrelated to the content, does not activate associated with intent, blocks 1/3rd of the screen, and cannot be manually closed and is t/f against IAB specs in multiple ways.

When you run autoplay video like this, against multiple commonly agreed upon specifications, not only are you creating a bad user experience, but you're also fundamentally defrauding advertisers who pay high CPMs for what is expected to be specific high quality engagements.

Not being able to close the video is very egregious & creates situations where ads may play in a way to significantly irritate the user (even more than the traditional experience) & can actually create a negative association for the user w/the brand. Little better than pop-ups.

Also, eventually the experiance will render unusually low engagement, robbing the publisher of the CPM value of doing video in the first place as the ads' value trends down.
