    1. I am concerned w/IAB Tech Lab's presentation of Global Privacy Platform as a solution to the Belgian DPA ruling. Perhaps it will evolve, but as it stands GPP merely extends TCF as a signaling framework that does nothing to address the main concerns. adexchanger.com/data-driven-thinking/taking-two-concrete-steps-toward-privacy-controls-and-compliance-with-the-global-privacy-and-accountability-platforms/

The core problems with TCF were its complex signal was itself a fingerprinting vector & that a signaling framework which didn't proactively block systems from running was inherently not compliant. GPP is an even more complex signal and does not proactively block systems.

Perhaps the IAB has been changing GPP behind the scenes to address these concerns, but I don't think a non-real-time auditing framework tacked on to a bigger more complex version of TCF is doing anything but kicking the can down the road, but we need a real comprehensive solution

To be fair, I think there is a lot of potential in a system *like* GPP. But if it is only another signaling framework like TCF it's hard to see how it could really resolve the problems the DPA has with TCF and the IAB.
