    mberk Depends on your interpretation (I am not a lawyer) but as I understand it if you opt of use of your email for marketing purposes that would also apply to sharing that email to other entities for ad targeting...

      mberk Since these systems are scraping emails up before the user has a chance to object and they may either be intending to later or currently (b/c the capture can happen on a login form) using the marketing opt-out option their emails shouldn't be shared in the way this scraping works

        mberk Some of the tracking systems that do the scraping may have the option to do block or allow lists but some don't run them, some sites may not be aware they are even an option to use, and apparently some of the scraping is not even managed within ad tech consent flows to begin with

          mberk The result is that this behavior seems to me to be at high risk of violating CAN-SPAM.
