    1. That Netflix has flipped on this so quickly is fascinating. I think there is a big change that *has* to come out of this... you can't sell ads on whole seasons dropping at once. It just won't work. Which means Netflix's famous 'always binge' position is going to change. myurow/1524027836016832512

      Here's the thing about CTV: a lot of marketers seem to be very excited about it, but the actual spend seems to be pretty much limited to YouTube and traditional models. Buyers get excited about *growing* audiences b/c it lets them get more cheap.

        By the time any Netflix show hits the public consciousness with enough weight to get buyers excited... the view numbers are on their way down, so marketers are going to perceive that as overspending for a declining audience. No way to get around marketers being cheap.
