I can't get over that we are perfectly capable of forgiving student loans and it is controversial. No one should have to pay for education. Education should not be as expensive as it is. I made specific choices because I knew I would have less debt. That means that I went to a "less prestigious" school (school prestige is BS anyway) than I could have gone to in order to have less loans. I have mostly paid them off but still have loans...Permalink On twitter.com

Student loans have deformed my life, I'm sure. That's what they do. Everyone's life has been deformed by student loans. Including parents, siblings, & people who may not even have gone to college but lived near one and everyone whose lives touched those people. They are bad...Permalink On twitter.com

Forgiving student loans is basic kindness. If you have ever had a loan think about any time you made a choice differently because you were worried about a loan. Every time you had to feel it hanging over your head, looming. Why force that on anyone else if there's another option?Permalink On twitter.com

Student loans are bad. Period. Arguing about forgiving them, which is the literal least we can do when we spend billions of dollars on military equipment and refuse to tax people who *can* pay, is ludicrous. We should be funding every person's higher education fully.Permalink On twitter.com
