    robinberjon I see your point! But I also see this happening a lot in writing on this "we need x for data that is like x developed for labor, but unlike it in some way" and IMO it incorrectly implies we're starting from zero when it comes to providing opportunities for citizen action...

      robinberjon I think that a labor model might provide a set of non-competitive-to-regulatory/law additional responses that leverage user's interests and abilities more directly towards protest and action?

        robinberjon One of the tricks of the capitalist is to make labor feel alienated from the means of production and therefore unable to improve conditions. What is the massive user data means of production if not a way to ramp up that disconnection?...

          robinberjon Shouldn't part of the solution then to be to reconnected not only to understanding and value of that process which turns user data into capital, but also a way to give individuals who feel helpless an understanding of the aggregation of data that helps their own collectiveness?
