swodinsky I hate the bullshit circles people wind themselves into to try and discredit a statement or a person because its emotional. If a thing is important, & we're supposed to care about important things, isn't addressing it with some distant abstract neutral voice *more* discrediting?

swodinsky IMO, the idea that stoicism lends credibility is *intrinsically* sexist, it pulls on traditional tropes of "big" men being "strong" because that's how they hold up the world around them and eventually become history-changing "great" men and it's some bullshit.

swodinsky It is not accidental that the so called "rationalist" movement is very often very racist and even more often very sexist. That BS claim to male superiority is tied to "rationality" in their minds, because the filter of Great Men is how they process history.
