                    1. Ah, I have seen my first Twitter subscription offer. It is apparently called "Super Follow"
oh my god twitter doesn’t include alt text from images in their API

I feel like if I'm already Twitter Blue there should be some sort of Prime/Twitch thing where I get a few super follows included? Seems weird to think that in a month if I super follow like five people I'm paying Twitter, a site I used for over a decade for free, like $20.

I dunno, also would help to know what percent goes to the account? Feels like the messaging should make this more clear.

I would apparently get super follower-only content but... Uhhhh I'm not sure I want *more* tweets. Generally, the best Twitter tools give me ways to filter my tweets & I'm unclear if it does? Do I get a special section to check these super tweets or just gotta hope I catch em?

This is the first offer I've seen and I'm not particularly interested in the account (no diss, just not the Twitter content I'm into enough to pay for it), so maybe I'll try the next one.

I know that paying for subscriptions to stuff and forgetting about it and failing to use it is standard, but it is unclear from this copy if I even get a centralized list of super follows.

I admit this is weird cognitive dissonance because I sub people on Patrion to support their content elsewhere and don't bother to check that feed often, but the framing here is different, explicitly promising both content and attention so it feels like a different choice to sub.

My worry is also that, because Twitter apparently hates lists even though they are the best feature they've got, they may have forgotten to do the obvious and automatically maintain a list here.

Also... What if I want to give someone money without making them feel behooved to respond to me? Would be nice if the label was optionally visible to the account.

Also... Do the super follows have a special section to see super follower tweets? Is that uhhhh good? I dunno!

I just find it weird that Twitter is aping the language of two very different user flows. On one hand Twitch - where you get a ton on anonymous interactions but for a limited time period you control; and on the other Patreon, where you get async messages, but from a small group.

Neither of these things are how Twitter works! And anyone who has grown to the point that having Super Followers makes sense presumably has advanced strategies for filtering their interactions incompatible with subscriber engagement?

Also... I'm really curious if this pops up subscriber walls where big Twitter accounts do long threads & at the mid point go 'well the rest of this thread is for subscribers only!' to drive subs. Which... seems like a thing this would encourage, but I'm not sure is good Twitter.

It's not that I'm against supporting people... it's just this doesn't feel like a very Twitter-native way of doing so.
