          Like the DTC model is specifically and by design built on leveraging sketchy ad tech and not because there's like some big winner that shows it works but because Numbers Go Up is what gets VC investment. Some go big... but very few are actually healthy sustainable cos.

        And this doesn't even go into the philosophical implications of DTC brands which replace community and the filtering function of local stores with crap direct to your mailbox, also having an impact on your local community of stores and small businesses.

      Occasionally I'll see these DTCs putting early pitch decks or videos out there, or talking in the press, and my fav thing is holding my breath until they mention growth hacking and then screaming It's A Trap at the top of my lungs.
