    hypirlink Devs like this are told to be bootstrapers, isolating them, & taking advantage of them in stuff like crypto. Pushing them to put their own money into projects that compete w/billionaires. Eventually the practice will exacerbate the issues of people with pre-existing mental issues

      hypirlink I think it's a mistake to look at this as bad person does bad thing because that narrative erases systematic issues: the pressures; the likelyhood that this person, because of how America works, didn't have access to mental healthcare; the isolation of package maintenance, etc...

        hypirlink This is the problem I'm getting at, which is if this behavior is being exacerbated by systematic pressures then we shouldn't see this as a lone incident, but a sign of things to come. Especially w/so many entering the marketplace being promised good work if they hustle enough.
