            1. Great end-of-year music listening report! Exploring new music has led me to more listening in 2021 with 33,641 individual track plays over 7,500 albums and 4,740 artists. Almost 48% of the artists I listened to this year were new. And a great genre spread! last.fm/user/Shade0/listening-report/year

One of the interesting things I didn't expect was that I found a lot of songs I liked enough to listen over and over. My 33,641 listens were spread across only 10,792 individual tracks. A lot of re-listens of all types.

I spent a lot of time listening to background work music as well, which--as a result--dominates my chart. One of my goals for the new year is to better integrate more of the non-English-speaking-origin music into my regular playlists so they get the replay time as well.

Somehow I managed to get to the top of my leaderboard for listens against some other really active listeners in my LastFM circle of followed accounts. And my discovery percentile was *very* high as well, also against some real competitive accounts!

For unclear reasons, French is the only non-English song language that's broken out (see: Chronotope/1113912157442330626 ) but the biggest winner of this year for my listening was building out my German Rap/Hip-Hop playlist: open.spotify.com/playlist/2c3W8FAXAq1M02pt1lZtjf?si=dd3043cbd2f547a3

As always... if you've got a new genre or non-English-language playlist to share with me, I want em! I take all recommendations!
