          dmarti jarroddicker Yes, I think that to the extent any NFTs are worth preserving (many of them arguably questionable in a cultural impact sense) they are not. Neither the item alone nor the blockchain record are enough. Our brains clearly going the same direction on this - Chronotope/1473338381291728898

        dmarti jarroddicker Digital works preservation, NFTs or not, is an important field with not enough work in it and whatever extent NFTs become part of the historical record is limited by this lack of tooling and systems.

      dmarti jarroddicker This is a shame because it's such a huge missed opportunity. Unlike comics, consuming a digital work could be a process designed to make it more accessible & reliably preserved. For example, if it were hosted on Hypercore, accessing the work would make it more reliably accessible

    dmarti jarroddicker Like we have with torrents, there are a variety of new systems where the methods of access become the method of preservation via redundancy, but, for the most part, no one takes advantage of these tools.
