    robinberjon Something can be high quality, factual and worthy of publication but still be detrimental or of zilch value to the patent publication and that feels increasingly common lately. I think they might have some value to readers, but decreasingly to the parent publication...

      robinberjon I think a lot of the popular Substack stuff is a reflection of that, the value of individual authors to readers is not clearly joined to the pub in the op ed context and so some can earn more independent than they could ever make for a parent publication...

        robinberjon What I really would be interested in seeing in a pub is what happens if the op ed section gets gone and the resources usually committed to that area instead go to further turn reporters into personalities and market their work to the public instead.
