      Myles_Younger Also, I'd assume each kiosk caches the images locally on a pretty long cache expiration timer? Hell, I'd bet the local cache doesn't refresh unless there's an event. It prob gets served a lot less than most would think.

    Myles_Younger Though with the images failing, it would have to be at least once or twice a day? Or maybe someone just really didn't think their cache strategy through.

      Myles_Younger Tho, if they refresh the images every 15m, across all 37,855 locations assuming 5 kiosks in each location (likely an overestimate of number of locations w/kiosks and of number of kiosks) it's still only 18,170,400 loads per day. W/20 images that's 363,408,000 loads...

        Myles_Younger Let's be ungenerous to their engineers and assume they are high quality web jpegs. 180/gig. So 2,018,933 gigs a day comes to $42,398. $15,475,124/yr.
