    swodinsky whew I don't even know... like it was just such a pervasive fact of life everywhere that it's impossible to really describe the fundamental shift between the 2nd boom and now. Back issues of WIRED mby?

      swodinsky IMO this shift is why a lot of tech employees react to the media the way they do today! They've been used to having their own subset of media that was the only ones to cover them (TechCrunch & WIRED) AND that coverage being universally approving without even thinking to criticize

        swodinsky I def recommend: letterboxd.com/film/home-page/ letterboxd.com/film/we-live-in-public/ and mby Steven Levy's stuff between 1990 and 2010. Though they act more as illustrations then hardcore analysis. No one has really charted that big shift.
