swodinsky I def think it is that, but I think it is more that you are presenting to people the idea that one of the fundamental underpinnings of how our country and society work are so incredibly broken that it makes these things inevitable and fixing it would require a huge shift.

swodinsky The core problem tho is no one wants to realize the problem is, and always has been, the enactment of capitalism in our society, especially since the 80s, &is therefore something we are basically all complicit in & need to vastly realign our lenses for interacting w/the world...

swodinsky As someone who personally went through this process (including a period of time where I was personally leaning libertarian on economics) I can attest it is not an easy transformation to one's thinking & is MUCH harder for folks who gain more privilege from the existing system...
