      humanpropensity robinberjon johnwilander Even in Ready Play... it's a dystopia... the technology is dystopian! The end of the story is them realizing that they are spending too much time inside the virtual world and it is breaking their society and they literally FORCE people to turn it off

    humanpropensity robinberjon johnwilander Like... wherever you get the concept from, every single version of it is bad, an enemy the protagonist must deal with, a deformation of society they must live with, or an obstacle they have to get past. Not reading Snow Crash isn't a good excuse when it's the same in all media.
