VC defined disruption has, often and for a while, been defined as being able to destroy entire potential business verticals, which has meant the marketplace was set back on economically healthier alternatives. Chronotope/813775079066783746

Some industries may recover and create healthy businesses now that the "disrupters" find themselves *suddenly* in need of a biz model. But there are likely some interesting verticals that could have changed the world that now have been destroyed to the point of never coming back.
