        alextcone Apple At the same time the rise of free market philosophy & politics, and some specific legal challenges, changed the definition of "monopoly" to exclude companies whose monopoly appeared to save money for consumers. Which brings us to the definition we operate under today.

          alextcone Apple And basically, without the specific oversight and threat of breakup the phone companies joined back together to the megacorps we've got today. And that led the way for too big to fail, and the ultra large tech companies that are a problem today.
