taubeneck Yeah, like East of West and The New World I am fascinated by Saga as a sort of commentary on post-Iraq 'oh America is an Imperial power isn't it' that has become an interesting thread through a number of modern comic arcs...

taubeneck I dunno about the Y TV show. It seems to have become a more solid rumor as of late, but it strikes me as *very* difficult to adapt in the modern context. But who knows, a number of comics I would have thought un-adaptable made it to the screen anyway.

taubeneck I think the core problem w/Y is it is a story in which basically all the men but one are dead... but it is still narratively centered on the man, which sorta sucks if you think about it. A lot of the other stuff could be adjusted to modern sensibilities, but that's at the core.

taubeneck I guess it could be remixed in some really interesting ways, it's an interesting *world* and some of the best parts of it are the ones that aren't centered on the main get-across-America plot, but it's not the comic I'd pick up for adaptation today if I was in charge...

taubeneck If I was going to pick a Brian K. Vaughan book to adapt, the one that I think would be *most* interesting to pull into a modern context would be Ex Machina.
