        taubeneck Yeah, that was a great run! I think DMZ was thematically on to something, but it never quite clicked for me art-wise. And I loved Y, but I do think that it has aged somewhat poorly in some respects, but still a classic!

      taubeneck The other one from that period that I think did a good job of interrogating superheroes with a thematic core to its storytelling is Planetary, especially with it's quite effective criticism of the Fantastic Four.

    taubeneck If you liked DMZ, there are two really good modern takes--from different directions--on some of the same ideas that are very worth reading too: 1. Days of Hate. 2. The New World. Both excellent books written by Ales Kot.
