      1. Wow did the Millar comic also have everyone including a woman and a person of color going on about how the 1930s were a better time? This us a... choice in the Jupiter's Legacy adaptation...

I'm not a fan of Millar b/c he seems so uninterested in actually exploring the genres he riffs on, but I couldn't finish the Jupiter's Legacy comics at all b/c they felt so uninterested in actually thinking through the world building required and that def carries over to the show

IMO where Millar is better is where someone else has set up the sandbox, but even then he can't escape his approach to these stories being limited by a lack of any interest in exploring the experiences of people unlike him.

It's just baffling to me that the pitch apparently was 'the Justice League existed since the 1930s and literally impacted nothing in history, but now they have kids, who want to change things, oh no.'

Imagine it's 2021 and your narrative has a major point about >70% of Americans wanting extra judicial executions applied by a group of super cops. Millar's stuff ages terribly in general, but even for one of his stories what a baffling choice to adapt.

Also, I just saw a trailer for this show and it was very clear that the trailer color and brightness was adjusted to make it look a lot less grim from a cinematography standpoint.

I hate watched the entire series over the weekend & my conclusion is that the pitch must have been "what if Superman but he's old and Supergirl is his daughter and also she is Winona Ryder from Reality Bites." Like this reads so much as a very out of time Boomers vs Gen X screed.
