BenFischerSBJ Interesting! Though I'm not sure more time in research makes for a better provider if you're looking for standard services? And there are plenty of outer-borough research hospitals as well. There's def prestigious cancer research happening in The Bronx for example...

BenFischerSBJ And a little while back I needed a really good specialist for a foot/ankle issue and it turned out all the research and practice for that was deep into northern Queens, so mby it also depends on specialty?

BenFischerSBJ This seems like it might actually be an interesting public service website, mapping research centers for specific specialties and then looking at locations of those with individual practices who associate with them, on the assumption that they are more expert.

BenFischerSBJ Because so little of American medicine has standard methodology and it is very much on the basis of the specific practitioner, their specialty, contacts, and experience, I've found "deciding" who is more expert very difficult...

BenFischerSBJ And I've been frustrated that my brain has apparently decided location is a proxy without consulting me and with no way for me to really justify that assumption consciously.

BenFischerSBJ The weirdest thing is that there is likely some other unconscious factor driving my decision making because somehow every doctor (like 4 in a row now) I've been to in the last few months has been super into Greek art and history and that is a very very weird coincidence.
