I thought about it more and Zack's biggest problem was all this muckinh around and establishing canon, etc... DC's advantage over Marvel is that the Justice League is *known*. If he wanted to have a big punch up with Darkseid he should have just gone straight to it.
-
Darkseid intended to be a dark god outside our understanding, & the antilife equation is--even w/literally decades of comics behind it--entirely unexplainable nonsense. There's no real establishing any of it. If you want to go to the punch up Zack, ya shoulda just gone for it
-
And the people who like his work would have been just as down for a 2h barely justified running fight across the multiverse anyway.
-
I mean any time a story touches the anti life equation (after Kirby) it goes completely to shit. Dunno why DC keeps going back to it. It's a bad story concept. More like the anti fun equation amirite?
-
I'm pretty sure, though I can't find the actual issues involved, that one of these comic storylines involved Batman shooting himself in the head to keep the equation away from Darkseid, it was real dumb.
-
And also: you gonna have Darkseid shooting eye beams in your film and not have someone go 'oh no, he's going to use his Omega Beams!' out loud? What are we here for if not to hear Ben Affleck yell 'look out, it's The Omega Sanction!' like it's an anime battle?

Zack if you want to do Sucker Punch 2 you should just do it.
