              1. How is it 2021 and the Democrats still don't realize they have to govern in public, establish and run a narrative and actually talk to citizens?

The Dems lose because they can't energize their base, they can't energize their base because 1. they don't talk to them. 2. they are so technocratic they think the right way to govern is say 'we're the experts, so trust us behind these closed doors.'

            3. And that energizing base is a daily, not every two years activity. Like how have they not seen by now that it's better to fight in public when you know you'll lose than it is to quietly line up mediocre policy in private?

How is it the next morning and I, a person who spends an hour reading news every morning, know more about potato heads than why we're bombing a country? I'm sure there's no good reason, but they at least have to give a reason....

And the coverage of minimum wage stuff is Signature Democrats, all mechanics and metaphorical gears and no *story*. What does the executive branch want to have happened and why? I dunno. Sorry, this is the way this works now, the president needs to get out there and tell a story

Like maybe that's bad and shitty for governing. Maybe it isn't great for how our country runs, but you can't pretend it isn't reality. What is the Democrat narrative? At this rate the GOP just has to step back and let Dems fall into the void unable to get out their own vote.

The governing party's relationship with the press shouldn't be homicidal like it was under Tr*mp, but both sides should realize it is adversarial. The Dems should not be relying on the press to tell the story they want. They need to go out there and leverage their own platform.

Then let the press do its job of reporting on actions and words, instead of digging through indirect bs from a party that refuses to explain itself.

It's one thing to be bad at governing, it's entirely another to be bad at governing *and* unable to explain why you're even trying. Jeez, this is so painful to watch.

Look Dems, you either have to do the right thing or say you're trying to do the right thing, you can't fail at both and expect to excite the base enough to get reelected. Wtf
          1. …in reply to @Chronotope
The best situation is if they do the right thing and also explain themselves, but considering the alternative party has gone nuts the Dems need to get one of the two right or we're going to be in a real bad place in 4 years.
