Enjoyed checking out my report from lastfm for last year! Tried to diversify my listening and try a lot of new music, especially non-English-language. It showed up a little on my chart, but I think the variety was slightly overwhelmed by tracks that I put on in the background.

Two of the big arrivals are hip-hop and rap--a genre I didn't listen to much before but I listened to a lot last year, mostly from French-, German- and Russian-language speakers (as evidenced by the French and German presence on the chart).
-
Folk Punk and Synthwave are also new arrivals, two genres that weren't really on my chart before 2020. Also good to see the arrival of Psychedelic rock, coming off of some great recommendations from jarroddicker.

It was good to see Israeli, French & German show up in my yearly chart, as I put a bunch of effort into actively listening to more artists in those, among other, languages. Sorta surprised I didn't see Thai & Japanese on there, as I listened to a bunch of both. Same w/Afropop.

I've been pretty balanced in how "mainstream" my listening is, w/it hovering around 50% over the past 3 years. Also. as a result of actively listening to new music from new places. my overall listening has gone up, increasing >1,000 plays this year over last. >4000 from 2018

Hoping to continue to get great suggestions from everyone here on Twitter, which has led me to some great music. open.spotify.com/track/2fRlJWRIJ7NpvIgKFjgwo0?si=6O9Y7evKSEGl0emlN9dmzQ
