mathewipilhofer Web hosting existed before Cloudflare and AWS, they just make it cheaper and easier to scale and scale quickly. They've become a huge part of the internet because startups only value those qualities. But that doesn't make them required.
mathewipilhofer All of their functionality is able to be replicated by anyone on basic web servers and Linux machines. The vendors aren't required, just cheap, all this really means is that being hateful comes with a social cost that manifests on this case as a web infrastructure tax.
