                  1. Watching old Law and Orders and I forgot how one of the major bits is the young and old detective playing their generational biases/prejudices off each other & it is wild how much could so easily be updated to today. The shit we get upset about is more a loop than a line eh?

Watched an episode concerned with "teens having sex for points" and was reminded by my s.o. that later that was basically transitioned to concerns about jelly bracelets.

Watched an episode where the jury was biased against Japanese people & thought: they could do this today but replace the word "Japanese" with "Saudi Arabian" or just "Muslim" and it basically would work exactly the same with all the same worries about biases and racist "experts"

"Doctor scams working women who waited too long to have babies" episode is ripped from the headlines then, but swap hormones with cryo and this script would work perfectly today.

Just finished an ep where Jack had to struggle with his positive feelings towards 60s radicals who had also been involved in a murder and it feels like a script that is going to get rewritten basically the same about "antifa" in 5-10 years. Or could be written today about Occupy.

Also, the generational back and forth between the two detectives still slaps. "Well, it's the 90s everyone's allowed to be gross and disgusting not just you." The duel chemistry between the detectives and then the lawyers just works.

Also, in this ep some NBC lawyer def decided they used a name too similar to a real person in the news b/c I can clearly hear a difference in sound quality where they re-recorded lines that mention his name.

Is there a guide to Law & Order eps and the headlines they were "ripped from" somewhere?
