  1. Been thinking a lot about how being a "newsroom unicorn", something encouraged heavily at college j-students from mid-00s to mid-10s, seems to have not served many of the journalism students who went that direction particularly well... at least not within the context of newsrooms

      I've not stayed very connected with j-school curriculums over the last few years, but it makes me think a lot about how the era of journalism education I was most involved with leaned so heavily on tech trends and immediate needs in the labor market, as opposed to careers.
