    santarchy I disagree because the point in which this situation is the same is based on ad tech. Facebook uses technology and programmatic markets to drive down prices of ads in a way that impacts the market of display ads overall, and I think I'm seeing this start to happen with audio ads.

      santarchy The point is: can the market for programmatic promise to reach the same listeners as radio at a much smaller cost and will advertisers believe them. In the case of the era led off by Facebook, yes. In the case of this era of podcasting... perhaps quite soon it will become yes.

        santarchy I think in Facebook's case it was a question of technology, but for podcasts it's a question of collective listener count.
