                1. I see a lot of let's say... post-Civil publications on this list. mariabustillos/1306673370411331587

The future of journalism is... paying for it with your normal dollars in a normal way that gives you normal access.

I missed it but all the conversations, back and forth, and partner promotion on Civil.co are gone. They couldn't even be bothered to leave up a link to an archive. Or give it a proper title link.

At the end of the day, after all that talk of independence and decentralization... nothing in the out-of-the-box 1.0 Civil WordPress plugin works without the core Civil system or Civil.co

At the end of the day the entire Civil project would have been many times more successful if they had just taken your normal cash, gathered it together, and used it to issue grants to publications directly without any of the blockchain nonsense.

I was completely uninterested in giving any money to Civil, but I'm glad to add some dollars to this Kickstarter.

lol I'm sorry I just can't get over that they appear to have put Gatsby to use to build 1 static HTML page. Really the whole thing in the nutshell: an entirely engineering-minded solution that far overshoots the needs of the project with the wrong tech for the particular job.

Gatsby is great, but if you want to have a single page website that does literally nothing and has no interaction... just write it in plain HTML and you would have had a better working site b/c you would have thought to put a TITLE tag on it >.<
