    1. Also still having trouble w/the fact that we live in a country where this photo exists: "A journalist runs past federal agents in Portland, Ore., after he was caught behind a police line during a protest outside the federal courthouse on Thursday. It is such a great photo because all the terrifying details that are right there. - The police's disdain for the journalist, you can see their bodies leaning away from him. - The journalist has his phone out and appears to *actively* be filing the cops as he walks past them

      - The journalist also physically appears to be cringing away from the police, together with the camera it gives the impression (prob rightfully) that he's very worried they're about to hit him. - All the police have easy access to pistols on their waist

        - One cop appears to be walking with his flashlight on, but turned behind him, so he can immediately raise it to blind people (because the street and siren lights are clearly bright enough to see by) - How militarized and armed the police look.

          - The border patrol walking a street in Portland, no where near the border. - This moron closes to the camera in full desert camouflage, not useful for anything but intimidation. - The journalist in what is clearly makeshift face protection contrasted with the endless cop gear.

And all the details of how militarized the cops look. The sagging pockets filled presumably w/ammo, none of their gear is covered and would hurt anyone they had to restrain, the guy with a quick draw for his baton. & all the cops have gloves, every inch of their body is covered.

And then top top it off the extensive emergency lights, the day level of lighting at night, and the smoke in the air. It all paints a pretty terrifying portrait.

                Our country is pretty broken.
