joshsternberg Reminds me of the Digiday piece that speculated that around 90% of publishers buy traffic through Facebook digiday.com/media/buying-facebook-traffic/

joshsternberg Every time I present the stats from that piece I get shock from the audience. People really don't think about the role of legit arbitrage and how Publishers play a role in that system for better or worse.

joshsternberg I disagree on the boycott not being useful though. Def in the long term, but also in the short term what's good for users is good for publishers and this is absolutely good for users in that it is forcing a reaction by FB of *some sort* but this does hit on a core issue...

joshsternberg This is one more example of how most of the growth of small to medium publishers in the post-print landscape has come via arbitrage mechanics that are unhealthy for the wider web and as corrections occur there's no getting around small-mid-size publishers hurting.
